Venturing Out Into The Canadian Wilderness For 3 Months

In 1 month me and a friend are going to drive deep into Quabec Canada as far away from human life as possible. I've been living my whole life doing nothing but drugs and making wrong decisions for the last 2 years. I feel like i have wasted so much time doing nothing. 20 years old. Dropped out of college for the time being because i don't know what i want from life. I have all these problems and addictions that i have tried so hard to fix and i am just to weak to do it in a world that welcomes all of these things and that are constantly being pushed on me. I've always heard people talk about these trips they have been on and things that they do and i wondered when is my turn going to come. So i broke up with my girlfriend. Am quitting my job and i am going to live out in the wilderness for a while.
I was actually partially inspired by a fellow shroomerite.

We have decided to take really close to the bare minimum just to test ourselves and see if we can really do this.
On our list is
-two person kayak
-Backpacks
-Knifes
-Fishing Polls
-Tackle Box
-Sewing Kit
-First Aid
-Flint/Tinder
-15Gauge Snare Wire
-Roll of string
-Small rope
-.22 Rifle
-Compass
-A pan(to Boil Water)
-4 lb Bag Rice
-Salt (For Food preservation)
-2 Pairs Of warm clothes

We are planning on leaving May 15th and plan on being away for 3 months. We have had no real survival training minus what we've read or seen on youtube :smirk:

I'm honestly not to sure how this will all go. But were stayin out there for that 3 months unless one of us dies are gets severely injured.

take more carbohydrates.....rice
and looots of sugar.

it takes about 5 days to realize your more addicted to refined sugars than most other things.

you only find this out in the bush.

have an idea where your going. draw up emergency plans ahead of time with someone who knows what your up to.

bring tea

and condoms

salt for food preservation?

rethink that. you wont be preserving food with salt. it would be very good to take salt with you.

if you have no back country experience, feel free to stay within reach of your vehicle.

these days you can get really cheap used GPS...bring extra batteries.

*sweetened condensed milk in tubes so then you wont need wet sugar

how do you think people used to store meats before iceboxes came about....

and to the OP are you from Canada?  Otherwise you may have some troubles bringing the .22 with you, gun control is a pain in the ass up there even when you're hunting

Thats awesome.  :goodluck:  It will no doubt be one of the greatest adventures of your life.

Be careful what you eat.  I think you should learn about hunting and foraging before you go.  Get some good books on the subject.

Take a big bag of dried fruits / seeds / oats etc They last forever and provide good nourishment.
