we havent had a puter for a month or so, HI

these are pics from early june, we were getting some time in at higher elevations for a later accent attempt in colorade. these pics are from the pecos wilderness near santa fe

the view of the summit the evening before accent

the view the morning of

waiting for the sky to clear, we had snow, sleet, hail and high winds the nite before

this was the only place one could rest at the summit as the winds were intense

Wow oDin, that's fucking gorgeous, good to see you post!

Maybe I'll be more appreciative of it when I go back home to it?

right on

i like stands of trees also blink

the animal is a yellow bellied marmot....basically a hairy rat, they eat ur food, eat holes in yer tent to get to your food....but i figure it was their home 1st so i just hang the chow.

we had a base/high camp at 11,000+ ft (was behind where annie is standing in the trees) and man the storm that nite was intense. lightning rolled in, and we were in the clouds. a few times i could hear the energy crackling in the clouds as it blew past around our tent. ill admit i jumped a few times when the thunder went off, at that elevation is was really loud. a few inches of hail/snow that melted pretty fast. the next day the clouds cleared for just enough time for us to go up and back down...then the weather went to shit again...up there...down below it was just another summer day.

the reason for high camp is due to afternoon storms, ie u have to get off of there by noon/early afternoon. since we are NOT into getting up real early(like 2AM) we tend to make a high camp.

the white stuff on the rocks u see can form from precipitation or even from just the clouds hitting the mountain and freezing to whatever.

14 miles total round trip

"Apparently there is a great discovery or insight which our culture is deliberately designed to supress, distort and ignore. That is that Nature is some kind of minded entity. That Nature is not simply the random flight of atoms through electromagnetic fields. Nature is not the empty, despiritualized lumpen matter that we inherit from modern physics. But it is instead a kind of intelligence, a kind of mind."
