Dungeons & Dragons
    #10079708 -

I hadn't ever played it before.. but last night I stayed up for 7 hours with my friend and his girlfriend and played D&D.

WTF? It was pretty fun though. Totally random nerd-out.

an old roomate of mine used to play d & d all the time with some of our friends. it actually led to his girlfriend breaking up with him.

i'd get really stoned and make fun of them, but they looked like they were enjoying themselves.

we all need a little :nerd: in our lives.

it's good shit when you're with people you can relax around and just joke about stupid shit for hours, otherwise it won't be too enjoyable, for me anyway.

DnD is a cool game if you are playing it with a buncha people with similar interests.

I have spent MANY, MANY hours playing that game.
Gonna try and get another game started up soon. I'm the only guy with all the books, so I will have to pull myself away from the computer and roll up a game for me and my friends to play.

I like playing more than DMing but being the DM is kinda cool too. Just LOTS of work :argh:

This thrad has the potential to open my own Proverbial Pandora's Box and Can of Worms and Can of Wup Ass and Jack in the Box on the Subject.

I've been a Dungeon Master and have had my own universe since the 4th grade to present day.

I'll also say: Dungeons and Dragons is what Modern Shamanism wishes it was.

I used to watch friends play it back when I was in high school. I actually played it a few times, but it takes way too much time to create a character and get the game started imo. A game for the truly nerdy, for sure.

Okay,
This one incident The Party (Helio, Sil, Rayna , Trent and Trex were walking down a dungeon corridor.

this hall ways was 100 ft long made of expensive stone and line with Master Paintings. Dimly lit by equidistant wall
candles traversing the length of the dungeon
hallway.

When they all reached the end, there was a pedastal with a three pound diamond upon it.
the party looked around suspiciously but the greedy thief (not being mindful of his own skills) grabbed it!

It was a trap I set, and the hallway tiled 90 degrees, and a pool of lava at the end revealed itself. Their dice saved the day even though I was out to kill. I'm a fair DM.

I played for years and then stopped abruptly years ago.  It was some of the best fun I've EVER HAD.  I loved it.

It's been sooo long since I've played.  Sometimes I want to get into it again.  I like roleplaying.

Yeah. We're all a bunch of weirdos, and there was much beer involved, so it was a great time. Yelling, "role-playing" (I can't do it seriously, we just joke around), awesome.

Problem was, we didn't really have a true DM.. since we all had characters we spent a long time making, we wanted to play with them!

Next time, we need a DM. Polly? Come be our DM.

Haha nice.

I used to play in high school with a particular group of friends, I always had fun.  Good times.

Also, we found the rules to be very detailed and confusing. Might have been the booze, but seems like it takes a long time to learn.

you'd be fucking hard-pressed to find a geekier activity.  maybe drawing your own hentai or something... that'd be pretty fucking geeky.
