I don't think you have to learn the guitar part until you don't think about it . . I've definitely caught myself glancing at the guitar in order to remember what to do next while singing (although it helps, especially if you're just starting out).  Having a good sense of rhythm is pretty important. Practice is definitely the word of choice for whatever you want to accomplish. If you can't really get down what you want . . try something a little lower on the difficulty scale and work your way up.  Definitely keep at it, my friend.  :jamming:

Does anyone have any tips?

I figured I would start with Crash into Me by DMB. It is an easy song to play, with a constant strumming pattern and chord changes throughout the song. I can play the guitar parts with my hands tied behind my back (no small feet for a guitar part) but the second I try to open my mouth to sing my timing gets thrown out the window...

Anyone have any helpful insight?

Now I have even more of a respect for Hendrix, he was singing while playing some pretty difficult riffs... how does he do it??


start slow, and use a metronome. that's it. practice practice practice, and oh yeah...practice.
