Firstly, most people did not vote on race. Most people voted for Obama because they were sick of the fumbling Republican leadership (if you can even call it leadership).

Secondly, I highly doubt that "Obama wants to take all guns away" as someone said earlier on in the thread. A few new gun laws might suck, especially for you gun enthusiasts who think you need 20 weapons to each person, but you don't go around declaring that Obama is anti-anyone having guns unless you want to look like an idiot. What a bunch of paranoid reactionists.

because it's an unnecessary and ridiculously over-powered tool of destruction and i'm forced to question the stability of someone who'd wish to wield it.  that's not to say every one (or even the majority) of those gun-nuts is unstable, simply that it causes me to cautiously contemplate their character.

besides, i'm an argumentative bleeding heart liberal.  how comfortable do you think i'd feel in the presence of an assault-rifle wielding conservative? :smirk:

Sure, gun nuts with assault rifles are scary, but having your rights taken away is much worse, based on principle if nothing else.

In my other post I put a link where it said that one fifth of one percent of violent crimes involve assault rifles, and 4% of mass murders involve assualt rifles (most mass murders are with bombs or fire).

The ban is based on fear-mongering. It is to the left what drug-scares are to the right.

i hope so as long as he makes cannabis legal too guns suck and only retards think they actually need them I've lived all my life without a gun and have not needed one because I'm not a retard who associates with retards who would use them in the first place.
