I think you under estimate the level of protection the pope has in
that car, do you think he is more protected or less protected than
the president, I believe you'd need at the minimum a 20mm to get
through that glass

Take a look at the popemobiles cabin where he sits and waves like a fucking idiot.

It;s clear glass. It's most likely pretty thick glass. I highly doubt it would stop a .50 cal depleted uranium round. I think it would do exactly as I said.

Hit the glass, go through, cut the pope in half or go right through him before finally exiting the other side of the glass.

The sweet thing is, on top of the sword, they're required to carry a dagger under their clothes on their hip (I believe that's the traditional place for it, for all I know they could have replaced this tradition with a sword I'm not an actual member or believer of Sihkism.) for the defense of the weak or elderly. 

So if they were to find some dude beating up on an old man or helpless person they could just fuck that dude up and be praised for it

The whole never cutting your beard or hair thing would get to me though.
