You do have a point there.



I'd like to reiterate my point.

Even if the pope said condoms are okay, condoms are not a totally safe preventative against HIV.  Some scientists have said they think its possible for the virus to still be transmitted even using a condom, and something like one in six condoms break anyway.  So, even if they were "allowed" to use condoms, they'd still be spreading AIDS by slutting around anyway.
Besides, where are these people in HIV ridden areas going to get condoms anyway?  Its not like they can bop on down to the local convenience store and pick some up- they're probably more concerned about just getting food to survive than for a little rubber contraption to stick on their dicks.

Plus, another reason HIV spreads so badly in Africa is because the people can't fucking grasp the facts of how HIV spreads.  I read a story where a 6 year old girl was raped by like 8 HIV positive adult males because they thought that your could cure HIV by having sex with a virgin.  Its a really common belief in the area, so you get a lot of dudes with HIV raping little girls.

Fuck that continent, its a waste.  Turn it into a nature preserve, I say.

Seriously, they're all dead in the next decade anyways. They should take over areas that are HIV infested, kill everyone, and give the area back to the jungle so all those sweet ass animals stop dying off.

Uh... there have been assassination attempts.  I don't know about on the current pope, but the previous pope, yeah.  1981, a Turkish dude shot and seriously wounded JPII.
The Pope's car is bullet proof and he's constantly surrounded by walls of people.
