Government looking for gold!

I'm suggesting the GOV wants our gold for reasons that will not benefit us, the citizens and consumers in the time coming.  Nothing but away to hoard what makes or did make or currency what its worth today.  My conspiracy has no backing yet for I'm just realizing the impact this could have.  I'm looking for thoughts here please feel free to elaborate. 

For those of you thinking

Instead of trading your precious gold for fiat money that will very soon have  little or no value,  hang on to it!  History will show that this troubled economy is only going to get worse, rising gas and food prices will  lead to  hoarding, riots and price gouging.  You can avoid the pitfall of society by retaining one thing that will never lose value...GOLD! Don't fall for one of these Cash for Gold Scams!

I hate to tell ya, gold has no value if there's no economy, for a
short period gold will buy you food or other needs but soon people
will realize that liquor, tobacco, coffee, drugs and food are the
real commodities and with with a pound of rice they can have your
ounce of gold, the value of gold is based on desire, it's just
another element, soft, malleable and electrically conductive, once
those riots start, the gold has lost it's value

Both are interesting theories,
but im going to stay on prisoner1's good side.

Besides that gold is the currency of kings ,silver is the common mans currency.

You know what, that could make alot of sense in the eyes of a trader for wealth.  I also agree with you, but the sale of everyday supplies does not decide the worth of our nation.  Our currency was based on our stock of precious medals.  Thats what gave our dollar a value.  We did how ever steer away from that, my suggestion is I think its an effort to regenerate our nations worth by stripping consumers of their gold for a recycling cost not even wholesale.

Can you think of one reason they are collecting gold, assuming its not for third party profits?

Obviously Novicemycology has noticed the trend that everyone has heard on the radio about people buying gold as I have. Hold on to it!! When our economy crashes that is the only thing that will be of value. As pris said "Tobacco, guns", and what most people will go for, but our economy isn't going to fall that far.


Most likely what will happen is that the bottom will fall out on the dollar, and the "Amaro", will come into place, and only people with gold, or silver will really have any wealth.

The amaro, that's a topic all in its own!  Not to many people would believe it if you explained it, but if you showed them you can buy stock in it!

Yup, probably. What I'm doing is owning debt free land,(do a little farming) and buying as much universal valuables as my toilet paper(dollars) will buy. Cars,unregistered/collectable guns, guitars. Have a little fun on the way and enjoy life while i have it.

Not only is it on the radio, but it's on highly viewed television networks, not to mention in my local mall.  I've never witnessed a reach to buy, so widely spread that doesn't have a single or common group,person, firm or other charitable representation accountable or responsible for the purchases. 

Maybe this is just a smart push of third party groups that feed off one another for common sake of a downed economy, they felt they could take advantage of for profit.  May this be the case damn I missed out on it.

Umm, those Cash for Gold things, while most of the time are scams, they are privately owned businesses. The GOV has nothing to do with them.

Most of the time it's just small time jewelry stores that buy and sell gold.

i wonder why china hasn't demanded we repay our debt with any gold we currently hold, which im guessing would be all of it.  we would still owe them im guessing, but why does china let us borrow money while we hold stock piles of gold?  i guess they don't want it?

i wonder how much money we would have to owe another country, before they own us?  couldn't china just take an entire state if they wanted?  do we even pay them any money for the loans we have?

You don't need to be the government to realize when the shit is going to hit the fan, and not to mention a time to time to get rich.

well it's pretty obvious. destroy the dollar to convert to an even more centralized system. At the same time, get people with gold to desperatly pretty much give away their gold for "so much money for my scrap gold"(duh more money, because the dollar is crap and getting worse). And of course the people who benefit have the real(and fake) money, they can easily advertise the hell out of it. They obviously don't need/want the dollars anymore

What I'm proposing here is something beyond private retailers.  Example private retailers(businesses) do not have the equipment to purify, melt down, and refine.  Gold purification is a licensed only practice.  I don't know for sure but I'm guessing the GOV keeps good eye on these sort of refineries. 

I'm not stating I know anything, I'm merely putting my thoughts out there for people to consider.  In point I thought this was worth sharing.

China is doing to us what we do to struggling nations. We put them so far into debt that they can never repay, and then we strip them of what we want.

Do you know where the first economic stimulus check came from in 07-08?  They were loans from china!  Do we owe them money, do they owe us!  What exactly is our national debt based on.  Not questions but statements left for discussion.
