Hey guys nice to be back online I have quick question for you.  I have a few peyote's that flowering and I want seed but the flowers are coming in staggered(no to open at once) Now could I use q tip get some pollen on it and refrigerate and apply it to another flower at a later date to get seeds?
I guess I would like to know how long the pollen would stay good on a q tip in a bag in the fridgeas well?

They self pollinate,and do you have some Diffusa in there?

No these came from -ivine -actus and she pretty on to it, never know maybe she slipped one past me.
I know they all flower pink.
Know are the seeds sterile from self pollinating or the seeds viable don't know where I read this article but I think it said something to the fact that you get allot more seeds through cross pollination.  Now my plants are flowering at different times I want to swabb one with a q-tip and save it until another opens, how long does that shit stay good?

i roll up a piece of paper towel into a thin pointed piece, kinda insect like so thats why it works so good i think:grin:, and use it to make seed with sum of my cacti, not lophs though i have no lophs or experience with them, but the seeds are always viable/good from the cacti i have done this on.

Williamsii varieties are self-fertile, others are self-sterile.  Crossing does produce more seed.

definitely cross pollinate between the flowers :yesnod:

use a q-tip or a little paintbrush.

Only williamsii are self fertile, all other species are not.  yours look willy to me though :smile:

like uare said, cross em :smile:  you will get more seeds.

The pale pink flowers look exactly like lw. You will end up with a bright pink capsule which contains seeds. Don't mess with it until it shrivels up. The seeds should be fertile, no prob. If you get two flowers at the same time you can cross pollenate. I'm not sure how long lw pollen lasts, anyone try to store it? If you don't have insects like bees or wasps messing with your plants you will have to hand pollenate to get seeds.
