would grating pf style cakes cause less damage to mycelium then breaking them in chunks with ones hands?

I used a cheese grater and the mycelium has torn the poo a new asshole. I can't see it causing more or less damage, its just easier to do than break the cake apart, plus it provides more innoculation points than just breaking the cake up.

Yeah, a cheese grater is the way to go. Some growers chop it with a blender but a grater is less work.
