i never understood whats so good about sushi. theres hardly any meat to it, i'd rather fork off a piece of cooked fish on top of some rice.

it also annoys me how just about anyone you ask these days says their favorite food is sushi. the day a girl tells me her favorite food is steak and mashed potatoes, i might fall in love.

And whenever I tell people I hate sushi it's always "Oh, you just haven't had the RIIIGHT sushi"

Fuck that nonsense, I'm not going on some epic quest to find it when there's a ton of delicious sirloin and marinades in every grocery store.

Sushi is awesome if you can afford the good stuff. I am going out for a $65 Japanese full course meal pretty soon, I am psyched.

I would choose good sushi over a cheeseburger any day, and I would choose a cheeseburger over grocery store sushi most days.

Did you try sushi at a grocery store? That stuff is generally very poor.

Don't buy sushi in a grocery store.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a real steak and potatoes kinda guy...nothing like a 16oz steak and a baked potato with a beer to fill ya up right, but sushi is fucking tasty.  Get over it.

I've never had a steak more than $30. I'll have to get an equally priced steak so I can legitimately say which one I prefer. Steak is 1337, but like sushi, it has to be high quality to be good.

Cheeseburgers aren't bad even when cheap.

Sushi is amazingly awesome. But I did meet a girl one time who claimed to love sushi, and then when I took her out to eat sushi she actually only ate california and tempura rolls. So I see what you're saying.

I like sushi but there are a lot more and better Japanese dishes. chawan mushi is great and Ushiojiru perhaps better. all in all Japanese cuisine is one of my favorites.
