How do you use an aquarium heater?
    #993117 - 10/25/02 06:55 PM (15 years, 1 month ago)

Hi. I'm wondering how exactly an aquarium heater is used to heat casings? What exactly is the proceedure for getting it to work? I understand that it has to be placed in some sort of jar but wouldnt that just heat the jar and the water inside it? I'd appreciate if someone could explain this to me, thankyou.

Having it in the jar with water turns the whole jar into a heater. The jar will produce warmth and heat surounding air.

It depends if its the submersable kind or the kind that has a clamp on it where the top stays out of the water.

Clamp kind:http: //www.myco-tek.com/TEKs/Incubation.htm

Submersable kind: http://www.fungifun.org/pf/incubator.htm

Hoped this helped.

How big should the jar be? How much water should be placed in it?

Tall enough that the part with the heater element is submerged.
Pint to quart.
