outdoor/indoor question
    #984617 - 10/22/02 10:09 PM (15 years, 9 months ago)

OUTSIDE: i put a bunch of horse crap in a pot, then put 3 cakes in the pot, it colonised the hole thing very quickly...
after a while, i tried to make it pin, so i left the top exposed to the outside to give it light, it started getting real white, and little mycelium looked like it was reaching away from the cake, and then it contamed.

so this time i did the same thing, except filled a pot halfway up with horse poo, then stuck a cake halfway in the pot...its doing the same thing, now its starting to form that whiteness again, im afraid its overlay or something...
what should i do?

once it colonizes, case it. also, make sure, if you are doing it outside, no to steralize anything.

Leave it outside all of the time, water, and make sure you have some kind of exit holes at the bottom incase you over water. I think that over watering will introduce contamination.

i didn't realize that i shouldn't sterilize anything when doing outdoor cultivation. i did bake the horse poo for a half hour to make it dry, i didn't want the horse urine hurtting my mycelium, was this wrong?
