Water in humidifier lines
    #980113 - 10/21/02 04:48 PM (18 years, 10 months ago)

Hey everyone.

Ok, I just purchased a humidifier. I have always done manual fanning and misting, and has always been happy with it. I just had the urge to try out a humdifier, but am running into one small problem.

The two tubes that run from the humidifier to my terrarium have condensation on the inside and then forming pools of water in the lines.

The humdifier is side by side with the terrarium.

Is there any way of getting around this?

Yeah, you want to angle the tubes so the water will drip back down into the humidifier. If you are having trouble getting the angle right you can always try sitting your terrarium up on something so it has a higher elevation. Also make sure you put some kind of glass or something at the end of the tubes in the terrarium, other wise you may get a build up of water on the bottom of it, which can only invite contaminates.

Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.

I had this problem. first I fucked with the lines so they formed an upward arc, so there was no place for pools to collect. Then I got smarter and when to 1/2 in. plumbing PVC with inline valves. I got muuuch better control of my RH and no blockages.

Yeah, that was my idea...was to angle them so the water dripped inside the humidifier..

thats weird too, I was thinking about putting something under the holes of the tubes as well to collect any water in the terrarium...

Right on.
