Can someone identify a reality bender? * 1

Ive read around and tried to find out what a reality bender looks like and all that but no one seems to know.  That or no one wants to share their knowledge.  I picked my first one this morning and it seems pretty short.  It could just be that one but it looks like theyre all heading the same direction.  I was just hoping someone knew what a reality bender looked like because I dont know if theyre just a small species or what.

oh and if you dont think its the species, what is causing my short mushrooms, ive heard everything from too much moisture to not enough oxygen and too much co2.  I would really appreciate any kind of input, thank you :smile:

Yep. That's definitely Cubensis.

well I don't doubt that it's a reality bender, I just don't know what one is supposed to look like, I'm pretty sure it is one and that's not really my concern, I just want to be sure they're not growing weird and I just don't know.

are they small stemed or just short? cause if they are small in general then you might not have enough substrate thats what happened with my first grow i did

Cubes are cubes.  Some moron made up a cute name for a plain old cube to get people to buy it, and it's nothing but marketing bullshit.  The pot people started it.  I still remember when we would simply buy a 'lid', but that was when I was the age my grandchildren are now.

The Reality Bender is a made up strain name by the owner of The Spore Trading Post (Shane, aka The Keeper).

He took several Cubensis Strains and renamed them to his liking as a marketing ploy.



The list of STP fake named Cubensis strains :

Years ago I went to the old STP web site and Shane had pictures of each of his strains...
I checked the name of each pictures jpg. file...
and he had left the real name of each strain in each of the jpg. files.
(yeah he was that much of a dumbass) :lol:


I wish I had made a list of the names that he listed in these jpg. files linked to the fake name strains of Cubensis.



to the op(original poster)...

it is very hard to identify the majority of Cubensis strains visually...

there are only about 8 strains that are easy to identify.

Wow...people are really gullible...especially when they don't do the research... psilocybe cubensis... thats the taxonomy of it... they dont vary much at all... the only reason there are different "strains" is because they grow all over the world, the only difference is that through the many many years that they have been around some have "adapted" because of the climate in which they were naturally existing. note how almost EVERY SINGLE strain of p. cubensis looks pretty damn similar?? some just simply grow differently than others because they were in a certain location growing naturally for some time... if you were to take one from Ecuador and grow it in Peru out in the wild chances are that it will change given a lengthy amount of time, but once again...it wont change dramatically
