Shotgun bucket terrarium.. working?

Iv birthed a texan cake that was grown on the plastic thing that covers blank cds into a bucket for the past week. Psilocybe Texan var P.Menace to be more accurate. We're goin makeshift all the way!

Its a 9 litre bucket, drilled shotgun style all over and underneath.. With a plastic bag covering the top. There's been some little balls appearing to form in the myc.. but not much extra fuzz or growth (it was a little underdone) The good clean myc from a remaining BRF cake that was contaminated, spawned to a handful of straw.
Temperatures have been between 13-38c where I live.. and I trust that inside, we're ranging between 15-30c.

I pump the bag up and down several times a day to encourage further FAE.. but i'm wondering if its getting humid enough in there? During the day time, I know its humid- I place my hand in and it feels wet.

The substrate looked a little dry on top, so I just placed into a wire rack instead. The underneath was still moist, but now I hope it will absorb more moisture.

Any thoughts or opinions on all this? Is this gonna work on the small scale? Maybe I shoulda left the bucket completely sealed?

I hope I see some lil shroomies popping up soon.

If you put about 5-6" of wet and drained perlite in the bottom that idea would work, but otherwise you are not going to get the 99%RH you need.

Perlite and misting is required. 

A minor correction: There is no P texan.  You meant P cubensis.

I figured that The Shotgun-o-bucket, with all those holes was gonna do a lil fannning and misting for me.. (?) I'v read of double tubs with only 4 holes requiring no fanning of misting at all. Is this true?

6 inches of perlite can paint a ridiculous image in ones mind.


And with the makeshifted mushroom name.. the makeshifted terrarium.. :crazy:
And thanks for taking some time - If I can be clearer, there's 3 inches of perlite and its only been getting 1 mist per day.. 
I was under the impression that all those holes would replace misting or fanning. I hope they do actually help with something other than the joy of drilling holes?

A P. Cubensis texan.. how to say and type this properly? I would love to know how to refer to 'different' strains more professionally. Is this an important distinction, or are they redundant factors where different Psilocybes come from?

I haven't been able to get clear on the history and culture of this misnomer yet. Particularly that all Psilocybes are the same, or not. And i'm not sure how it does matter.. or not.

I mean, P.Menace doesn't really exist didn't it? After all, they're only symbols that mushrooms teach us tries to be naming things, aren't they?

Psilocybes are not all the same, they are a species. In a species there are strains such as P. Cubenses or P. Cyanescens or P. Azurescens.

Then you have substrains, IE cube substrains include "PE" or "Texan". This is mostly just to describe specific attributes of that particular mushroom. Like PE looks like a penis, but spawns and fruits like any other cube.

its for FAE and the holes on the bottom let air travel through the perlite evaporating moisture thus creating some humidity.  but misting replenishes water supply and fanning removes excess moisture.(and FAE).  5" of perlite will hold a lot of water so keep it moist and fan 4-5 times a day.  u should be good.

Yah..

They're not happy in the bucket. Such regualr misting only makes for dampness.. so now there's a dry and damp cake with mean green:(

In case a more proficient setup is created, would one definitely recommend shogunning it, or will 4 larger polyfill holes do the same thang?
