Has anyone listened to John Frusciante's new album

I love this album i think its his masterpiece, his best solo album yet. Listening to it on lsd is the best musical experience ive had in a long time. It's all based on a story of the 2 people inside your head. here's John's own description.

"The main character is a creative person who experiences the full spectrum of life’s ups and downs. All dialogue takes place in his mind. The other character could accurately be called the creative force, which constantly creates and perpetuates existence. It could also be called the energy which fuels the engine we call the mind, with all of its creative potential. It could also accurately be called ones true self.  It sometimes takes the form of a voice in your in your head or voices in your head.  The more out of step your actions are with your true self or the creative force, the more disruptive those voices will be. This serves as a guide. This characters action is usually on track enough to where, when he hears the force as a voice, it speaks truth.  The main character is, to one degree or another, in a perpetual state of confusion."

the album is set up so perfect and it touches your soul. highly recommend this and im picking it up on vinyl :smile:

It doesn't come out in Canada until the 3rd of February:thumbdown:. I have a few of Frusciante's other solo albums though and listening to The Empyrean is definitely on my list of things to do.

Hell yeah I have. It is the shit. I really enjoy "Before the Beginning" and "Dark Light". This is definitely an album, however, that has to be listened as a whole. John Frusciante is one of my favorite modern artists, both his solo work and the Chili Peppers. If you like this album I also recommend "Shadows Collide With People". It is another solo work of his that came out in '04.

I agree this is his masterpiece. And what a masterpiece it is! I havn't been able to listen to it tripping yet but I really want to. I have read through all the lyrics to get a better understanding of the songs and have also read the blogs on his site. This album may be the best album I have ever listened to. I love how psychedelic it is too.

Central is my favorite song on the album, it is about the main character having an internal suicide and in the next two songs he is reborn.

As a non fan of RHCP I passed over this guy for years.
He's got some weird shit out there, I'll have to check out his newest and get back atcha...
