Hey everyone... I just moved to the seattle area.

I've got to learn how to hunt now that I am in a mushie town. I used to live in SoCal and of course couldn't do any there.

I got to go once in San Francisco hunting for Cyans in Golden Gate Park. Guess who spotted the mushies?!?!?! Me of course.

I am hoping to find someone who is willing to show me the ropes. Anyone wanna help train me?

I just started hunting myself, and I really think the BEST thing to do is buy "Mushrooms Demystified" by David Arora. I mean, it is awsome. Another thing to do is just check these boards and learn how others ID and see pictures first hand of what people are finding.

There is a buncha great knowlageable people here like ToxicMan, Mr_mushrooms, GumbyDude, LK, GG and viscid just to name a few. :smile:

I think buying the book is a must, its helped ID shrooms that I found last year w/o even seeing them since and being able to go through the keys to find out what I got!

I'm not an expert, but I have started doing lots of hunting in and around Seattle this season. Thanks to cardboard and Mushroom John's website, I have a pretty good idea of what to look for.

Nope.. I certainly wouldn't leave warm sunny southern cali to in the cold just to hunt for mushies.

Thanks for the offer Koos and dobie but I don't know my way around this area yet and I think it would be bad for me to try and find my way down to southern washington. Shit I have a hard enough time trying to find my own house with all these fucked up streets.

I'm gonna have to stick to the general seattle area. I'm on the NE side. Anyone in that neck of the woods?

hey karen.
they're out there!!!!!!!!
you can also hunt edibles like mad all around your city and on the coast.
i would concentrate on cyanescens. easy to target.
look in mulched gardens. in the city parks and around churches and government buildings. they are finding lots, and not posting pics.
go get some and take some pics for us.
