seattle area hunting?
    #2038674 - 10/24/03 02:18 AM (13 years, 8 months ago)

I know it is not cool to ask for an exact spot (and don't worry im not going to!) but im new to this and have not lived in this area long...

I live south of seattle and I was just wondering where any nearby forested areas may be ?

PLEASE UNDERSTAND i'm not asking for specifics!! I just don't know where any foresty areas are really... Give me a nice big area to look in ... i don't care!! Also i'm not just looking for P. mushrooms i just need a general forested area to go spend a day hunting and walkin around where i can pick some mushrooms, take pictures, and bring them back to practice identifying them just for practice and getting to know different types of mushrooms...

thanks!

I don't know how far south or east you live, but I took a fabulous walk in the woods east of Enumclaw about a week ago. I must have seen at least 15 different varieties of mushrooms in just the hour I was out. If you're just looking for some to practice identifying, head east toward the mountains. Miles and miles of woods out that way.

Want to practice ID's...buy a map and just go to the local national and state parks. I live 2 minutes from St. Edwards State Park up near Bothell, and there are dozens of walking trails and I see at least 10 different species every time I walk a single trail.
