Newb to growing.. Need a few helpful suggestions

looking for a few helpful suggestions :smile:  i am pretty new to the idea, i have been studying it all for a week or two.  me and about 4 close friends are Extremely interested in growing.  not only for the scientific learning side, but also for the fact that we all love Shrooming :smile:  we want to grow 1 or 2 times, with multi-flush.  hopefully making a half-pound of dried so we dont have to grow for a long time and can go Shrooming every other weekend or so.

any Suggestions, or Good Indepth guides that i can be referred to? 
Or is anyone willing to Help me out on this and tell me the best tools to use and Tek's to use for such a operation?

4 people is a whole lot to be all growing together. someone is going to tell one other person and then everyone will know. I'd say either go totally solo or just with one friend...but thats just from my experience dealing with people trying to keep stuff low key
and check out the quart jar method...it doesn't seem to be too popular of a tek around here but it is really simple but it might not provide the size of flush's you are looking for

Start with Pf Tek, yeilds arent the best, but they are good (with dunk tek) and its totally monkey proof...

you may want to build a better terrarium than the PF tek suggests tho.....
and get a pressure cooker...
i hope you all have a few hundred $ to drop on this hobby...
start up is expensive.....
and start gathering materials NOW
it takes a while to amass everything on the list.. its like a friggin scavenger hunt, and it can be difficult to find the products you require depending on your area...

things to get NOW:
pressure cooker,
several dozen 1/2 pint canning jars Wide mouth, tapered (kerr or ball are the brand names)
brown rice flour and vermiculite.....
once you find all those materials, then order your syringes, and start building your terrarium setup...
id go with a rubbermaid and some perlite....
read the faqs and do lots of searches.... i read posts on this board for MONTHS before starting....
but low and behold i have tons of cakes that are produceing tons of pins right now! yay!

Thanks to all who have Posted so far :smile:

i am getting some Spores from a friend, she got a print of the mushrooms she got last time.

Dunno what kind they are, but she claims they had different colored specks on them.. anyone able to identify this type?  they apparently arent extremely potent(1/8th of a Oz. to hit a Level3/Level 4) But they are pretty good :smile:

Although I agree with hyper dermic that a PC is a great piece of equipment, you don't NEED one, you can use the boiling method for sterilization. But a PC is better, its just more expensive. Oh, don't expect to get a shitload on your first try, this hobby is a little tough to pick up right from the start, and a couple of failures in the beginning are actually beneficial, kinda teaches you what not to do first hand. damn dude, I love PF, they originated the revolution, but what about an email address they respond to? they don't post on shroomery , they don't respond to any emal. get yo shit together! Ralphstersspores.com delivers. :cool:

I have personally never had a problem with PF and have found all responses to be extremely fast. Maybe it was the post office....................................................
