Ok i just need to know when the cakes are colinaized can i put pure perlite on the bottem of my growing chamber then just to keep the moisture off the cakes i will put them on little stands to keep them above the perlite. Am i missing any thing here did i miss any steps???

No, you got it right. You can put them on little squares of aluminum foil.

Just put a layer of perlite down about a 1 1/2" deep, next add water 2/3" deep. Lay your cakes on the lids of your jars on the perlite.

Sure! You can put them directly on the perlite for even better humidification.. Take care!

really? I really did not think that was safe for the cakes. What if you add hydrogen peroxide to your perlite? Wouldn't that fuck with the mycelium?

Depends on the peroxide concentration.
If you go with a 0,15% solution, then it shouldn?t do any harm to the mycelium but still give you some protection.
I allways(did) put the cakes directly on perlite without peroxide though.

I must admit that I am not a professional, but my casing worked just fine like that without adding peroxide...
