I'm going to assume "tripping" is a subjective term:

Opium- 13
Cannabis- 14
DXM- 14
Nitrous- 15
Diphenhydramine HCL (Benadryl or Nytol)- 16
Mushrooms- 17
Salvia- 18
Ecstasy (MDMA)- 20

Not to mention, Alcohol, Kava, Caffeine, Tobacco, etc.
Still, I've avoided far more than I have sampled.

I was 16 years old, and the exact date i remember, Halloween of 2001, oh yah, a BEAUTIFUL full moon to on that memorable night, only one on a Halloween till 2040 something. AWSOME first trip! Beat that for a first trip! : P

I might have the earliest year, not age. I was 13 in 1974. Orange Sunshine was acid. I say confidently, y'all have never done anything like it!

Shrooms age 24.

I started a lot later than most people because I wanted to make sure my life was in order before trying. First time was a pleasant level 1 trip, but I hated the paranoia it created. Even to this day, paranoia is my least favorite side effect of tripping.
