One of my friends raves about goat meat. One of the best meats in his opinion. I have my doubts.

I've never eaten goat meat (I think) but if it compares to beef the way goat milk compares to cow milk...i want nothing to do with it.

Really? I like lamb, but goat seems a bit odd to me.

So far I seasoned it with a light dusting of rosemary to keep it simple and am now pan frying it. It's fragrant, and smells... different. Time to flip!

Goat is usually a little tough and a little fatty.

I like it in stews, or curries.

It is fucking great though.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Foreginers are sometimes bad at labelling things so I may have had goat in the past. But I'm pretty sure this is the first time. Either way, it's the first time I'll be rating it.

Fat and skin: Chewy. Similar to a milder lamb. Ended up spitting out the skin. Too chewy.

Meat: Pretty good. Kind of like a grassier lamb. The rosemary taste combined with the goat actually kind of tastes like a type of marijuana I once had.

Overall: Not bad, but it's not my favorite. Definitely not as chewy as I thought it would be, but still takes a bit of effort.

It didn't seem very cost effective either. It was like $4/lb and I threw away about 1/3 of an lb of bone and skin. The fat thing really disappointed me because lundabaggi (sheep fat) is a big thing in Iceland. I thought that I would open a whole new cuisine opportunity, but eh. I don't want to eat chunks and chunks of that shit.

Again, the goat was pretty good but probably won't make it into my portfolio anytime soon. Unless I come across a store that sells the better cuts.
