Overmature w/ veil??
    #950684 - 10/10/02 08:22 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

What is up?

I had a few PB's going overmature to I could take nice big prints. After I plucked em, I noticed the veil was still pretty much attached. But the caps have flattened out, about ready to turn up; w/ a veil.

Maybe this is a common occurence, just never ran into it before. Not w/ PB, or any other Cube's I have done.

Shit happens. The raccoon has had that happen a few times w/several strains. Sometimes veils are just -- not cooperative.

Wear a dust mask, use a glove box or flow hood & simply use sterilized tweezers or forceps to remove the veil.

If your ever in any army surplus store or place that might have some dental or medical surplus stuff around. Get yourself one of those stainless steel dental picks that have a a sharp curve on the end (like they use to clean plaque off your teeth). Plus some good medical type tweezers.

They are a good grade of smooth stainless steel & simply swabbing with alcohol cleans then - well. The raccoon uses the dental pick end to hook,  hold & place them. If required, he uses the tweezers to remove any clinging vail.

Heavy duty wax paper is a good cheap material to make prints on. Then, after the print is layed down. Cover them with another piece of wax paper & seal into squares with an impulse sealer.

I wish I had an impulse sealer.
Have been looking for one wholesale.
I use canvas board, cuz I am an artist. =P
Works pretty good, I would sujest it to anyone.

I saw the kits like that when I picked up my last pair of boots. I will get it next time.

Check places like the GoodWill, Salvation Army & thrift stores. You can find Seal-A-Meal and/or other types of impulse sealers in those places -- often & for only a few bucks.
