He really is an asshole but sports are full of assholes.  The comment was stupid, he was getting my sloppy seconds himself.

It was more than "just a comment."  He called a fucking press conference just to say it.

The sexual centering of the remark and what "sloppy seconds" entails is the key to this. If he had just called them azzholes or whatever I'm sure he would have been good.

I think there should be an "asshole clause" in everybody's contract, no matter what profession they are in.

I can't say I follow hockey to closely, but it seems to me that the guy's a dick, and has been for quite some time.  Maybe it was just the straw that broke the camel's back?

Sounds like it, plus I just can't say enough how distasteful the comment "sloppy seconds" is to most of society.

For being such a tough guy, playboy type, he sure has a lot of photos where he looks like a member of N'Sync

I think it's hilarious. Everyone's panties are in a bundle about some crude statement. Guess what, he's a hockey enforcer. He was hired to beat people's asses, not to be a role model. They knew he was when they signed him.

Honestly, I hope the Wings sign him again. He was great when he was there and we need a tough guy.

Avery isn't really an enforcer.  He's just an agitator.  More Bobby Clarke than Dave Schultz.  Whatever.  He still keeps hitting on my sloppy seconds.  Maybe he likes the taste of my dried come.
