Well if drugs were legalized there'd be millions, maybe billions of dollars in surplus that is no longer spent fighting the ongoing (read: never ending) drug war. All or a major portion of that money should then go to public drug education (read: the facts) and treatment centers for addicts that want help.

If marijuana were legalized it would be taxable and we as a nation would be rolling in surplus revenue. I recently heard on CNN that marijuana is estimated to be America's number one cash crop beating out both corn and wheat combined.

Doesn't this sound like a better way to deal with the drug situation in American when compared to the situation we currently have? Every year we spend millions and millions of dollars fighting an impossible war on drugs which only serves to escalate the street value of these drugs resulting in our current system only making the drug dealers richer.

Which makes more sense?
