So if he were complaining about something Republicans had done rather than Biden, a Democrat, it would be fine?  Sorry, but I don't buy it.  I don't care what party is abusing the Constitution, the People need to stand up against such BS.  Just because Obama is popular is no reason to look away when somebody tries to take rights away from the People or pretend that the Constitution is a meaningless bit of paper.

You completely misunderstood what I said.

If he wants to be angry about the Constitutional travesties taking place, that is fine.  But to champion the lawsuit and the person bringing it because it was pointing out those travesties is naive.  That's not the reason for bringing the suit at all.

I didn't champion the person bringing the lawsuit did I?  And I don't think I championed the lawsuit either, though it should go forward and discovery had.

I think Obama is eligible to be president.  I've explained the relevance of the rulings- what don't you get?

The first amendment gives you a right to sue.  The courts determined that no suit lies int his case cuz an elector is not harmed and has no case or contreversy with his president who is serving illegally.

What exactly is radical about disagreeing with this?  This is a violation of the first amendment and an abuse of Art. III.

You really wouldn't feel differently when some nazi in national office is blatantly violating the consitutional elibility requirements and the courts don't allow a suit?  So if Fidel decides to run and is elected to say president, could be whatever though, you may not like it but you would be fine with the court throwing out a suit challenging his office when he blatantly admits he's not a citezin?

And don't mistake my distaste of a court's ruling for support of the original action.  For example, I believe gays have rights to marry, but I don't agree with the challenge supposedly brought on prop 8 on the basis of state law claims that a right can't be taken away from a group, even though I support the end result.

There's a difference between objecting to bad law and endorsing the action which gave rise to such.

This suit was brought for the sole purpose of defaming a candidate for President *before* the election.  You'll remember they tried like hell to get this case heard before election day so that they could attempt to place that one last seed of doubt into the minds of voters.

It's more or less standard Republican politics.

If you "remember" this suit/case was brought up before the election by a Democrat.

i wish they got him in office first, let him go about his business, and THEN find out he was inelligible. that way, all this excessive government expansion that he will drive would be thrown out the window, and we'd go right back to jan 19 09.

seriously though, if it does turn out he's ineligible, there will be riots. probably not only here, but many places across the globe. and what would that say? all of these people globally that have been fooled by this man. :nonono:

i think the birth cert is a moot point. it is a known fact that hawaii issues Certificates of Live Birth to people who register their births in hawaii, regardless of where the actual birth took place. therefore, the COLB that was shown to the media probably was indeed real. but it's not the same thing as a Birth Certificate, which would state the location of the birth, the doctor's signature, etc. all of this required information is absent on his COLB posted on his website.

furthermore, if he attended school in indonesia with citizenship listed as indonesian, isn't that a renunciation of US citizenship as indonesia did not allow dual citizenship? also, on what country's passport did he travel to pakistan on, when in 1981 the pakistani gov't was not accepting US passports?

these are important issues to ponder, along with his father's british citizenship which made ol' barry a brit at birth too...

i'm not sure what will happen. it wouldn't surprise me if he was just a ploy to either bring in a biden admin, or if the election results are in question, then either another election/runoff, or mccain by default??
it will be very interesting to see how this unfolds.

No it isn't a renounciation even if he intended to do so- which I doubt.  Telling some school you are a citezin of their country isn't the same as renouncing your citezenship.  He could have renounced it to the school and it would have been of no effect.

It shouldn't be either.

And even if we presume he had anything to do with the citezinship listed on the school records, which I've never heard supported at all, it shouldn't matter anyways given his age at the time.

But no, it is legally irrelevant if he told the school he was a citezin of some other country and it would be irrelevant if he went so far as to renounce his citezinship to the school.

Perhaps you need to look up the definition of unadulterated?  What he posted had sections blurred out and appeared to lack a seal of authenticity.  Again, I'm not doubting that he is a US citizen, just pointing out that the 'wing nuts' have reasons for thinking it was fake.

The election was over... Obama won, why do we continue the theatrics? To anyone who say's this is some earth shattering event because some crackpots filed a lawsuit then you're wasting your time. Everyone is sick and tired of the incendiary rhetoric both sides fling and frankly I think we should give Obama a chance before we stick his head on the pike, lets itleast wait till he fucks up first.

This birth certificate is getting fucking old, I put it up there with the various other failed memes like 9/11 troothers and other retarded conspiracists. Its grasping at the proverbial last straw, face it republicans, you lost, preserve your dignity till next election and stop attracting ignorant hatefilled mongoloids, the party of Lincoln, TDR, and Jefferson deserves better then the irrational toothless hicks ruining this great party.

I rest my rant...

Why blame Republicans?  It was a Democrat that filed the lawsuit.
