o well. grod13 or 31 (not sure)got self laminating wallet holders thingamajiggs and those were pretty cool. might be what agar used.

Those do look pretty neat, Monstermitch sent me one prepared in that fashion, was pretty neat looking.

Easier and probably safer to just drop them into a ziplock if you don't own a hepa :smile:

Flow Hood is a great investment as well as an impulse sealer cause you can use it for doing grain bags as well..

Flow hoods are great.  But would be the most expensive practical thing you get for home mushroom cultivation.  If your handy and frugal you can save a lot of money building your own flowhood.  The number one thing you need to make sure is the get the right filter from the get go.  Some people buy a cheap filter that isn't designed for laminar flow or isn't a true hepa and suffer the consequences.

This isn't a question of weather or not you should soak your wbs or something along those lines if you don't get the right hepa the flowhood simply will not work.

Ebay will be you friend to find a cheap hepa.  I found a 24"X24" for about $100 but shipping killed me.  You need to be careful of this because they are large and heavy.

I saved a lot of the blower because I was able to salvage one out of an old furnace.  Start looking around and calling places in the yellow pages and you might find a blower that will work for ya.

That would be a good price for an impulse sealer if it's a good brand.  I've heard cheaper brands and very well used ones are very prone to failure.



Once you get your flowhood up and running you will want to get yourself some culture work supplies like petri dishes and agar agar powder/dextrose/light malt extract.. if your not already doing agar.
