ID request, bluing WA woodlover

I found these yesterday and thought they looked very interesting.  Im still trying ID them myself, but havent arrived at anything conclusive yet...perhaps P. cyanofibrillosa?  Thanks!



Habitat:  wood chips

Gills: light brown, lighter than cap. adnexed to adnate.

Stem: 1-5mm wide, 3-8cm long. overall white appearance (brownish-tan below white fibrils, especially towards base).  Wider at bottom, equal at top.

Cap: 1-4cm. obtusely conic, plane in very mature specimen. Hygrophanous.  Carmel, drying to tan.  Viscid with seperatable pellicle.

Spore print:  slightly purplish brown with naked eye, more pronounced in flash photo of print.  Very similar to P. cyanescens print.

Bruising: blue, on stem and cap.

Location: Washington state, lower Puget Sound region.

edit: they were quite dry when I found them...hence the light color caps in the pictures.

Interesting!

Maybe you found something new. 

Azures is a good guess but I don't really see the nipple on these, also the stem looks different, more fibrillose.

Yeah, those look pretty crazy. That would be neat if they were something new. You should plant that myc in more wood chips, also scrape those spores off that paper into a spray bottle and spray it around. That's what I do to try and spread the species.

whoa they look almost as some caerulescens  i mean the stems , really rare find .. this year we are seeing many new thing  , so exciting , look like the psilocybe  are to the conquer ....

I'll try and get some pics of them in their habitat tomorrow.

P. azurescens never crossed my mind...to far north isn't it? And the caps don't plane out like in the last pic above?

I really see the similarity with the caerulescens stem.

I kinda keep back to cyanofibrillosa.  Cyanofibrillosa aren't cespitose fruiters though...The other thing I thought was that the dry weather could have stunted them before the caps could plane out.

You have something odd, that's certain.  Not fibs, not azures.  Collect as many as you can, take as many prints as you can and take as many photos as you can!

Fibs don't bruise blue like that.  They're barely active.

I've also been told that azurescens can be different depending on if they're found on sandy areas or wood.

Ps. azurescens grows in Washington.

These don't look exactly like anything I've seen.

It doesn't look enough like Ps. cyanofibrillosa, Ps. azurescens, Ps. cyanescens, nor "Cyanofriscosa".

I certainly see the resemblance to Ps. caerulescens or Ps. weilii with the pleated, incurved cap margin, and the somewhat floccose stipe, as seen in the former. 
But again, it doesn't look enough like either.

Probably something new.

They remind me of Psilocybe zapotecorum, what type of trees were growing with these?

Actually, the new images resemble Ps. baeocystis more than they do Ps. zapotecorum!
Very interesting find either way!
