I won $5,000 at the craps table last nigh

so, I just spent 3 days driving across the country to good ol' Reno Nv, for a business trip. I got in late last night, and decided to put a few dollars on the craps table before heading off to sleep.

so they have this one long shot bet, called the fire bet. basically you can bet $5 on it, and if you make all 6 'points' it pays 1000 to 1! and lo and behold, i shot all 6 numbers!

i think that im going to go buy my girlfriend something nice

Having grown up in Las Vegas I learned a long time ago that people love to boast about their wins, but you never hear them talk about their losses.  Also, having grown up here I learned not to gamble years ago.  So its a rare thing for me to drop any money at a casino.

However, a new casino opened up last month right by my house so we had to go check it out.  You know the drill...have some drinks, watch a band play, and of course play the obligatory $20 while there.  And let me be the first to openly boast...that casino ate my $20 up so fucking fast I didn't even know it was gone!

i won $400 from a $2 dollar scratch of ticket one time when i was 18.  Probably like the 5th ticket I ever bought.  I don't buy them anymore though, i once saw some math on it, and how investing that same $10 or whatever you spend every week in stocks/bonds/other investments pays out way more over the long run than playing lotto/scratch offs with the same money and the odds figured in.

However, over my life, I have come out on top gambling.  I have only spent about $50 playing poker, 2 of which were $20 games, and i won $160 at one of them, and a few dollars here and there.  Probably spent about $20 on scratch offs and won $400 plus a dollar here or there.  Then I have spent about $20 on texas lotto and never won shit.

never been to vegas, or i would have more losing stories to tell.  i will go blow some money some day to see what its all about, hopefully, i don't enjoy losing my money too much.
