I told him to give me the '67 firebird he restored.

Actually, I just asked for a game for my wii, my family used to be extremely well off but everyone on both sides of the family is going through tough financial times. They gave me everything I could want when I was growing up, and still do basically. I try not to be greedy about it. I'm a little spoiled, but I also worked 2 and 3 jobs ever since I was sixteen until a couple of months ago, as well as going to school. So they didn't mind pampering me

I'm not labeling anyone? If there were auto-labels for druguse then I def have my share.

  Certain drugs have a stigma that goes along their use that kind of reduces one's ability to look past and really judge character.

For instance:  A positive figurehead of a highly successful charitable organization get caught snorting a fat bag of heroin.  The majority of people would see that and immediately start talking about what a horrible person he/she is.

Sure there are stigmas with every drug. Like when somebody mentions PCP I think of niggers getting butt naked and streaking down the street raising hell. But when it comes down to push and shove I know that there are good people who toy around with PCP and don't run around flipping their shit ass naked in the streets.

It's the ones who live by the stigmas and won't look outside of their box, those are the people I find ridiculous.

People that smoke crack on occasion or ones that make a lifestyle out of it? :smirk:

As I've already stated (in my opinion) a person should be judged based on their actions towards others not the substances that they choose to ingest. I just don't think that it's very fair to label a person based on the chemicals that they choose to put in their bodies for whatever reason.

Not everyone who is an opiate user/addict is using heroin.

My doctor prescribes me pain medication for a reason, severe chronic pain due to a MVA.

I don't use opiates to get high, I use them for pain management.

I'm only one of millions of others. I'm just saying there is a huge difference between a junkie and a user.

sure if it were that simple but I doubt that many occasional crack aficionados that like to sample crack from time to time exist.  Once again to be fair, maybe it's that we only hear of or see the actual crack heads.  Although they're certainly not short in supply.

yeah, the thread matt was referring to i addressed that.

i during that time i linked to a then-current post about how to make poppy extract shootable, i think there was at least one other post about the best way to smoke crack.

i was just suggesting that we draw the line at some point.  I think alot of young kids interested in weed and mushrooms come here for info, and if they're seeing how to shoot poppy extract they may get the idea that all drugs are created equal.  In fact, i think ODD put that sticky at the top awhile afterwards, i guess i was ahead of the times.

That's all I'm trying to convey here. It's not that simple.

-

I know quite a few successful people who take a hit of crack or rail a few lines from time to time at parties and what have you, they definitely do exist.

That dude is such a fucking elitist with his music.

To me elitism most often is used when talking about music. Hipsters are elitists. However I'm sure many other paths of life have elitists that are fucking annoying, I'm just not involved with them.

Beer drinkers can be fucking elitist too (apparently I'm becoming one.) To most people, at least most people I know, not identifying with the common person's interests is not a good trait. That's also akin to being an elitist.

I'm an elitist.
Most people are stupid monkeys, and I strive to be superior to them in everything I do. It seems to me that allot of the people on this forum are elitist's.

I have heard that song millions of times,
I was our theme song for the summer this year.
Thats why the name of that dessert is so funny.

Yeah, I took the leftovers to a party that my friends threw last thanksgiving and I walked in like "WHO WANTS BLUEBERRY YUM YUM?!"
They all got SO excited, until they saw the cake dish in my hand. But they enjoyed the dessert for sure
