 Open Moderator position In the Pub

The increased traffic level in the Forum, and the loss of two moderators has left us with at least one opening for a new moderator here in the Pub.
The Administration has decided that the best way to add new blood is by getting the input of the forum members! 
To Quote Thor:
"Each forum has an 'election' type thread when a spot becomes available in a forum. We then have people nominate people and then people interested can of course write a short essay to explain why they would be the right person for the job and in the end we will make a selection based on this."
When nominating someone please remember that the good of the forum and the Shroomery should be your top priority!
If your nominated but for whatever reason cannot commit please say so, everyone will understand that life has to come first.

Hmmm, interesting.

Hey, thanks for the nod Ripple. Its good to know someone appreciates you. 
Honestly though, I never thought I would be a very good moderator. My comings and goings are scattered and randomn at best. And I have never wanted too much responsibility. But if the Pub demanded it of me I guess I'd give it a shot.
Personally, I think there are better nominees than myself. Shiek, Learyfan, KK, KC, Todcasil, Phycotron, and delta9 all come to mind.

Of course that method ultimately is a Popularity Contest in which many able, and willing, users are left out of consideration!
I personally wouldn't want to Moderate the Pub as it wouldn't be that much of a challenge and requires little learned knowledge to administrate.
Now Moderating the Other Drugs forum would be a nice fit for myself.
Personally I won't nominate anybody. Sure I have names in the back of my head of people who are popular on the BB who would be more than happy to do so, moderate that is! But what makes my nomiation for someone any better than someone who comes around all the time but is a relatively unknown user who can do just a good as a job as the next person? Does that seem fair to everyone else? I guess not! Since choosing moderators is often an unfair process. . .

LearyFan is the spirit of the pub, he should have the honors. Gdman, beejay, cherrybomb, kindkesey, and ellemnyshade(sp) would all be excellent as mod but LearyFan first and foremost.

Ok.... i've been thinking about this one. And i loved to be a mod here in the pub, my home.... the place that keeps me coming back everyday. I know i don't post as much as i use too, but i still manage to lurk the boards every day. So if nobody else steps up to the plate i'm in!

Well since I spend a lot of day time (Holland day time) here.
And I believe I'm a pretty okay guy.
I would gladly apply for the job, the pub is the place where I spend most of my time. And I already have mod experience from other forums.
I would do my best to assist anyone in need, and apply the rules when needed.
Independent work is no problem, and I'm here at least 5 times a week.
