Are you on any drugs?

What do these dreams consist of?  Is there a reoccurring theme?

yeah I'm taking xanax daily.  It's hard to remember the dreams now but my mom died in one of the dreams.  And in another dream I walked into a room and my dead grandpa was pissing on the walls.  :uhoh:

What are you eating before bed? Do you wear socks to bed? Are you generally cold at night or warm? What substances do you partake in? Have you been stressed out? How old are you?

Its almost certainly the xanax.  It always gives me weird vivid dreams.  Most drugs affect dreams in some way.

I don't really eat right before bed.  I don't wear socks.  I'm not cold or hot at night, just comfortable.

only using Xanax at the moment, But I have experimented with shrooms a few years ago.

22 years old, and yes I'm constantly stressed out.

First thing you do when you want to treat nightmares is you stop any use of drugs and see if they go away.

Other than that, stress is the obvious factor here. Getting a massage from my girlfriend before bed worked for me, other than that you could smoke some weed (just a little) a while before bed, indica is best, you can do some meditation or breathing exercises, or you can read a book.

I've had alot of nightmares lately too... mostly about my boyfriend or other people leaving me. I also have reaccuring ones where my mom is in them and I know shes dead but she's like almost alive in them where my subconscious in the dream still recognises her as dead. I have a lot of funeral dreams too.....

I guess they are like of my two worst fears.... being completely alone and death.

ps Im not on anything.

It probably is the Xanax. That stuff gives me crazy vivid dreams that blend in almost seamlessly with my memories of the past day. Not nightmares per say, but it gets very hard to distinguish what happened in reality from my dreams if I take Xanax before going to sleep.

Same thing happened to me when I played Neil Armstrong in Moonshot. They found me in an alley in Burbank trying to re-enter the earth's atmosphere in an old refrigerator box.

if you use psychedelics why not try to embrace them, realize them, or figure them out as you would a rough psychedelic experience. otherwise happy happy thoughts and try stress relieving activities

Yes,
with larger doses it can be very hard to tell the difference from reality.  I had no idea what I'd done the last day but had fragmented memories some of which I figured out were just dreams.

I used to take Xanax but it didn't really help much.  Yeah it takes the edge off being stressed out, but never gets rid of the source of the stress.

What you can do is to keep a dream journal near where you sleep.  When you wake up from a dream, write down as much of it as you can remember.

Sometimes dreams are like.... you know when you blow up a balloon and then just let it go and it flops around for a few seconds while it deflates?  Some dreams are like that.  Totally random, meaningless.

But some dreams are there to make you pay attention to something.  So writing it all down helps you figure it out later.
