Throwing up blood on psychedelics?

I drank some cactus juice today and after about 90 minutes I had to run to the toilet. I vomited some light green liquid, followed by more mixed with the mushrooms and cereal I ate today, then some dark green liquid, then phlegm mixed with bright red blood. :confused:

I have thrown up blood once before, about a year and a half ago, on a heavy dose of mushrooms (which have also come to make me heavily naseous).

Can these things iritate the stomach to the point of causing bleeding? It was intensely bitter and I forced a lot down. Or might this be a chronic ailment I have?

eat more healthy stuff and quit trying to kill yourself with drugs.  Nausea and vomit with blood is an indication commonly used to preliminarily identify am active stomach ulcer.  It's a condition you can heal from if you modify your habits.  Seek a doctor's advice if possible- chronic ulcers left untreated can result in more serious conditions which can be really bad, possibly even fatal if left untreated.

so you don't think it could be a direct effect of the psychedelic substance? My diet isn't immaculate, but it's probably better than standard american. I have to say I'm a little worried though.

Liver toxicity can also cause nausea---

I drink 4-5 cups of tea a day, and I started smoking tobacco just recently (a couple weeks ago).

traveller, i basically only get nauseaous on nauseating psychedelics, it isn't a factor in my day to day life.

Hmm-- ok then.  I'm no doctor, and cactus usually makes folks puke, but I'm sure puking blood isn't good. 

maybe you were just tripping hard?

ha no it was definitely blood if that's what you're suggesting. I thought it might be salsa from the night before but it was too purely red for that to be the case.

I installed a hard drive on my computer right after and it took me a minute to realize some of the prongs actually were curved and supposed to be that way, but I definitely wasn't hallucinating colors.

The question on my mind is whether acute bleeding can be triggered by a stomach iritant in an otherwise healthy stomach.

If it was bright red, I'm guessing it was your esophagus, if it's dark red then I think it's something you need to be worried about.

But I could be confusing that with stool. (:hehehe:)

IMO the psychedelics raise your awareness and this might make smaller imbalances really flare up. An ulcer indicates you have too much acidity. Avoid alcohol, bread, sugar, cigarettes, and hot spicy food. Eat more salads and cool foods such as fruit smoothies or goats milk. Be sure to also pay attention to the mental aspect of it. Try and stay calm and centered. Avoid stress, and overwork. Alls will be well

quit throwing up, unless its alot of blood (cups?), or happens without reason its probably just your throat becoming agitated from throwing up.

Same as if you screamed death metal for an hour and spit blood.
