(If you want a pro-Scientology viewpoint, speak with YawningAnus. Both of his parents were/are cult members and he is very vocal about protecting the image of the cult. Although I don't agree with his viewpoints, he does a decent job of explaining their beliefs.)
The thing is most of them can't or won't explain what you want them to answer. They are programed to back-speak, or to seek ways around the questions you want to know. To find the criminal in you, real or not real.
This isn't a new obsession of mine, as to some of the others who stay anonymous in their thoughts. I have wondered about this cult since 1996 when i was in collage, and took history of world religions.
Most religion prays on weakness of it's members anyways. It makes people fear that without God, or any term you want to grant him, you are doomed. Salvation lays in a dollar given, and a belief in whatever is the best lie . The Cult of Scientology excels in the art of it. It takes basic human fears, and mass manipulates them into easy cash, and control for themselves.
L Ron said it best..
You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion.
