Dinner night idea's.
    #9116160 -

So, me my roommates, and some people from work have a night every two week's that we cook dinner, and drink wine, and what not. I am having a little trouble coming up with what I am going to make. The theme is Oriental, so if there is anyone that can give me some advice that would be great, thanks.

Stir-fry with rice is easy to make for a crowd, and likely to be enjoyed by everyone.

one thing you could have is a big pot soup:
sweet and sour soup
or egg drop soup
or miso soup <- really easy

Thanks for the input. We wound up going with a sweet, and sour chicken stir-fry, and shrimp satè. Delicious. Any other good idea's would be greatly appreciated. We want to do a different theme every time i.e. Greek, Indian, and so on.

honestly, the best thing to do, in such a situation, is to walk around the produce/protein section and find some nice fresh shit that you are ready to indulge, then build your dinner from that.

Do a Spanish theme day.

Nothing better than some Spanish cheese or Serrano ham (and sausages like chorizo or lomo iberico) to go with a good glass of red wine. And if you can get your hand on some chorizo and some morcilla (blood sausage of any kind will do) you can make some awsome lentil or chickpea dishes that mix fantastically with a powerful red.
