need ideas
    #2008787 - 10/14/03 05:55 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

i want to make dinner for my girlfriend. preferrably later tonite, but i can wait a few more days. I'm really pathetic in the line of cooking...so, im hoping someone will post a really easy recipe that even i can't screw up. im pretty sure we have all the pots and pans, and spoodles/spoons, or whatever is needed. What i do NOT have is ingredients  :nonono:, so whatever recipe i choose ill have to go out and buy most of the ingredients. I dont have eggs, and i dont even have pepper!  But like i said, ill just buy the ingredients so if any of you know something i can make that tastes damn good, isnt too hard, and doesn't need  too many ingredients, id be grateful

btw, no pasta or anything with tomatoe sauce.   my girlfriends parents always make pasta, or lazanua (sp?).

Make some Angel Hair Alfredo. Easy as hell to make and you can throw some chicken and/or broccoli in there if you like.

Check www.allrecipes.com for a ton of recipes.

What kind of food does she like?

Chinese? Chicken? Seafood?

Does she not like anything in particular?

More details would help.

Get some lamb chops and separate them. Salt and pepper each chop a little and place them in a pan and cook them four minutes each side for medium.

Get whole garlics and just stick them in the oven for a half an hour on 350.

Later, when the garlics are slightly brown, slice the pointed tip off and drizzle a bit of oil and s+p on them. Alternately, if you can handle the prep, slice the pointed end off, drizzle the oil and s+p on before baking them.

If these two stepa are done then you now have pan seared lamb chops with roadsted garlic. Take the pan from where you just removed the chops and put a half cup of water in it and shake it around on the flame for a second and you have a jus for the chops.

Take a few new potatoes and boil them in salted water which has some butter and a bit of saffron. You will have tender saffrom boiled new potatoes.

Cook some asparagus by simply placing some spears on a plate with a few teaspoons of water and some butter and s+p, and cover it with another same type plate upside down and microwave it for two minutes after everything else is done. The water and butter will make a butter sauce which will coat the asparagus.

Plate up. Simple, delicious, elegant.
