the royal princess of the dinner party

#2088811 - 11/10/03 08:08 AM (22 years, 10 months ago)

during my lifetime, i've seen my mother prepare for 83672364637280 dinner parties. my parents do a lot of schmoozing with the upper class elite, even though we live in middle class white trashy suburbia. go figure. at any rate, we throw a hell of a lot of dinner parties and attend a hell of a lot more.
anyways, seeing as how i've had so much experience already with dinner parties, i thought i'd throw one of my own for my birthday. a theme party of sorts. jazz-ish and sort of roarin' twenties silent film starlet glamour style. (i want to wear this one dress i have, that ive never had a chance to wear yet.)
all i know is that there must be vodka martinis and plenty of pot. other than that, what kinds of food should i serve? how should i decorate? any ideas?

Jazzy food?

Do some class, and do serve yourself foods with booze as a theme, like

dark rum sweet and sour meatballs,
roast beef with wild turkey gravy
buffalo wings with black pepper, scotch and butter glaze
chocolate fondu with kirsch and cookies for dippin
jambalaya
small round veggie pizza on thin crusts
battered and deep fried soft shell crabs with benedictine hollandaise

you get the idea, lazzey le bontemp rouler

--------------------
...or something
