Re: Palin's 150,000 dollar Wardrobe... meanwhile, Obama resoles his shoes [Re: Phred]
    #9117562 -

Do you know that for sure Phred?  The clothes, including that for her kids will be sold later (be mean to the kids I'd think, and her daughter needs those designer expanding pants)?

IF the RNC thinks that it is a good investment in the campaign to have her wearing designer clothes, I don't see any objection to that, they spend millions to do the campaign.

I see it this way, Palin is the hockey mom, and like all "normal" Americans likes to go shopping!  Well if that ain't the last thing that America has left of their "Dream" buying things.

"Spending money you don't have on things you don't need, so you can spend the rest of your life paying 25% interest on something  that cost you 12.99 and you didn't even like when you got home(George Carlin). "

Palin, with the funds of the RNC went on a shopping spree for her hubby and the kids, you know, for the campaign image.  She is still upholding the consumerist American ideal.

Obama, on the other hand is preparing himself for you know, governing a country, so hes got other things at hand.

"A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.

This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.

Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security."

I wonder who else is buying designer clothes but it's simply not being reported on?

Cannashroom, if she kept the clothing, it would be considered spending campaign money to buy gifts for oneself.  To get around this, campaigns usually sell off (clothes in particular) at auction for charity.  And the world is saved.

After over a month of desperately seeking dirt on Palin this is what the NY Times comes up with.  Pathetic.

I am very sure that all of Obama's suits have been bought at the most cost efficient store....lets say Walmart.

Of course the above would have to be true, being that the media has an exact desire to scrutinize his wardrobe as well....

Not that hard to find... Obama's suits cost $1500/ea.

You can find the same info from a huge number of other stories in newspapers and major media sites through Google.

Palin's wardrobe - which will be auctioned off and proceeds donated to charities at the end of the campaign - cost about the same as Obama's ridiculous Greek columns stage set. The wardrobe will be used for  months. The stage set was used for a night.

Quote:
So, putting up a ridiculous stage set that made Obama look like a fascist jackass, and then packing it away after one night? That was fine. Money well spent. But buying enough clothes for two months on the campaign trail? That's the biggest scandal since... well, since all the other Palin scandals that weren't.

Have they made an attack on Palin yet that hasn't backfired? Do they think we won't know when it backfires, just because they don't report it on NBC?

Does Palin's wardrobe have the capability of making a national broadcast?  Look at all the television equipment attached to it.  Of course it cost tens of thousands of dollars.

I assume that the RNC convention stage cost a similar amount.

That $140k was money that was spent for the whole DNC Podium Production. Did you even read the article phred?
Quote:
It turns out that the Democratic National Convention Committee spent over $140,000 on "podium production" (you can see the individual expenditures after the jump). It would seem that the construction of the Barackopolis would be included in this amount, but I can't tell how much money was spent on the Greek-columned stage at Invesco and how much was spent on the podium at the Pepsi Center.
