found yellow larger mushies growin from deadwood, any such thing as yellow gyms with yellow gills?

Research Pholiota and Gymnopilus species in your area.

Learn how they are different from each other.

There are many yellow mushrooms with yellow gills that grow on wood  in your area.

Or post good pics of the specimens.

no fairy ring...much shorter stems, dark brown bruising, have a sweet type of smell, smooth cap (yellowish brown)   

gills actually already changed to a medium brown color

stem dosent get bigger....stays same size whole way

and more of a flat cap

Just don't get hurt, Luke.  That's the main thing.

Two quick tests for active Gyms:

Taste, bitter as hell
Smell, like licorce, anise or fruity

Do not eat small ones.  They can be Galerina.

yea thats what that smell is "licorice"  ain't small, 2 3/4 inch cap diameter

Sounds like a Gym to me.  I can't tell you to eat it unless I see it though.  Better safe than sorry.
