Catha plants
    #905344 - 09/24/02 06:05 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

10 week old cuttings fully rooted. This plant is easy to root.
Here?s also a shot of the mutha in a garden. About 3 years old and growing at a rapid rate. She was grown from seed from a farm in NJ. Catha will grow outdoors in summer here in the Northeast, but should be brought in during the fall. Plant is native to Somalia, Etheopia.

dosage: chew about 5-6 leaves, or make a tea. great for those long nights typing up term papers and reports. Mild euphoria with a mellow caffeine like buzz.

Very Very nice.. I too got a cutting from a farm in New Jersey, although it's not as big as yours. I suspect probably even the same place.

What's your soil mix?
I mixed half sand and half normal potting soil without vermiculite.

Atleast in america, i've seen american supplier's selling the seeds. Quite interesting.. When the DEA raided our good friend Mark and took all his tryptramines, they never noticed the Khat seeds.

They never took any notice of the poppy straw either, which is as illigal as it gets.

I use scotts potting soil mix and a nice handful of sand mixed in. I let her dry out between waterings. This was all new growth during the summer.

Cam-yours is second from the left.

Never had seeds from it though. not sure how it flowers.

Some resturants in NYC will sell the leaves. just gotta poke around.

I thought it was only illegal to sell or to extract the Khat? Did the laws change? Kinda stupid if you ask me, its a very mild plant. As far as ethnogens go.

It's very mild, and it's still flat out illegal, it just seems that it is so unheard of in mainstream public that people can sell it and do stuff with it right out in the blue, like NYC restaurants and nobody is the wiser.
