Dmt root bark melting point

Hey everyone I was wondering if any of you know at what temperature DMT within powdered root bark breaks down?
Lye warms the water greatly and I'm concerned the warmth degrades the crystal?

dont you add the lye before the root bark in an stb tek?

Yes, the lye-water should be mixed before adding the bark.

THat said, unless the lye is bringing the water up to a sustained vigorous boil, then degradation isn't likely to be a problem. (When brewing ayahuasca, the brew can be simmered for hours to reduce it to the desired volume with no loss of potency... that's DMT as a cation though, the freebase created in this case will vaporize at a lower temperature, but is still not likely to escape the aqueous phase)

Yeah I didn't know if it melted at 116 degrees(according to erowid) Within the bark or not.
