I don't know much about this genre, but I know a great place to start would be the shroomery. Can some people upload some songs that fit under some of the electronic genres? Psy, etc...

Yeah I second this. Shpongle has many different genres sort of combined into one but a lot of their stuff is trancey/technoy and very trippy. Definitely check it out.

I saw scorb live at waveform. Didn't like what I saw very much though... Maybe I should check out some of his other stuff though.

Hallucinogen and System 7 for a couple more.
Type in psy or psytrance into http://thepiratebay.org and plenty of psytrance will appear for dl. Loads of Goa trance aswell.

More techno/psydance type stuff - A guy called gerald, Orb, Orbital, Leftfield, Underworld, Prodigy, CJ Bolland, Aphex Twin, Ott, Transglobal underground, Afrocelt sound system, Juno Reactor, the Younger brother, Future loop foundation, FSOL, 4 hero, Timo Maas, (what can be remembered from collection).

Yeah Tiesto is the shit. I used to have one Tiesto mix that was sweeeeeeeet. Also I hear that Boards of Canada is pretty spacey too. I haven't listened to much trance music in awhile. Might have to dig around and find some just for a hoot. :dj:

You went to waveform? bastard. I wanted to go to that but I couldn't afford the ticket and I didn't have a ride. A load of my mates went as well.

I ended up working at this small hippieish festival (which turned out to be really decent; banco de gaia was there & we got smoked out constantly by the people we were working for; big fat charras / bud doobies for the win :grin:

) on the same weekend. It was called 'out of the ordinary festival'.. near brighton.

I went to sunrise / big chill this year and it was fucking awesome. Next year I'm hitting up the festival circuit for sure. Big chill, big green gathering, sunrise, glastonbury and waveform are all on my list for next year. With a bit of luck I can work with the same guys and go festival hopping for free (although I'll have to wash up, serve customers and peel veg during the day).

Next time you go to something like that, you'll have to hit me up. Do you go to tribe of frogg in Bristol?

it really depends on what your looking for. if your looking for dark psytrance, there are a few there (particularly kindzadza and rinkadink) but the others are more of a goa than psy.

Im also looking for some good GOA psytrance. I love sphongle, infected mushroom, 1200 mics etc. I love the kinda music that just takes you on a journey into your own psyche.

I suggest an artist called Govinda. The album worlds within. Its the kind of music that takes you away. Just lay back, close your eyes and enjoy the journey. I find that music like govinda and some psytrance puts me into a highly medative state. Music can heal on many certain levels.

My mate is doing tribe of the frog but I'm missing that one. My next event is westfest! Oh yeah...

You coulda probably got in for free ya know, the security there was well low and fences easily hopped with a bunk up. Not too cool to not pay but hey I've done it a few times... I've snuck into 4 festivals now, glastonbury 3 times! Only got kicked out of 1 because security spotted I didn't have wristband but still had a good 8 hours for free :grin:

I've also worked as stewards and bar staff thats a good way to see the festy for free and get paid!

Yeah man I'm up for meeting you that would be cool! Next year though now as winters well on its way...

Definately, just got that one recently myself.

For that chillin smoke at come down stuff like sabres of paradise, nightmares on wax, jah wobble (esp. collab stuff with the likes of bill laswell and ex can members), bill laswell, can, gong, faithless, (trying to remember less well known stuff).
A couple of good remix albums `Floating Seeds` eat static remix (A+) and `Hallucinogen in dub` hallucinogen remix (A+)

Generally when searching record shops I tend look for stuff with Steve Hillage, Orb members, Eat Static members, Simon Postford, Can members, Jah Wobble, Bill Laswell, King Crimson members, Andrew Weatherall, (and others I cant quite remember now) as this lot usually end up in really cool collabs in various combinations.
