My snake got out, any advice?

So, I have a Banana King Snake and he's a couple feet long and he so cleverly lifted his tanks lid yesterday and got out while I was gone. I tore my house up trying to find him and can't find him anywhere. I've made a heated spot to hopefully lure him back, does anyone else have any ideas? He's too big to bait with a pinkie in a 2 liter, I'm not sure what else to do but wait until he pops out of nowhere.

you can probably build a trap out of some chicken wire or some other metal mesh. Make one big cylinder out of it. Make two funnels that fit into the cylinder, narrow part facing inwards. Throw a mouse in there and hope for the best. If the snake crawls in the funnels to eat the mouse it won't be able to get out.

I had a 4 foot boa go missing when I was younger. My parents found it in the liquor cabinet about a month after it got out.

I'm going to look up a trap because I have chicken wire and am really good at working with wire. He's escaped twice before, once I heard him plop out onto the carpet while I was trying to sleep turned on my light and he tried to slide away to freedom so i snatched him up, the other time was at the pet store I used to work at and he was gone for three weeks and then someone found him curled up in the plunger! haha...

He's a good snake though, it's sad not to come home to him everyday but a huge ass empty tank.:(

Do you live in your own house or is it an apartment? If an apartment, hopefully it doesn't show up in a neighbors house. They'd shit their pants.

Chicken wire would work good, or a dark surface with a very sticky bottom(like in the link posted).

Just curious, got a picture of the snake?

I think I'd like that very much, if you have the time of course. I'm wary of the sticky ones, I don't want to have to peel him off of it, he would not be too happy with me.

I live in a house, and everyone has been alerted to the possibility of him crawling out of any nook and/or crannie. But it's also a really old house with lots of small spaces. I'm afraid he'll get in the walls or ventilation.

check around your hot water heater.  they sometimes get ther for warmth.

my albino corn snake got out years ago when we first moved into this house. we couldn't find him and had to have our house tented as it was infected with spiders and termites. we tented the house with him still loose. we got him when he was tiny, had only had him about 3 years and he wasn't quite full grown but he wasn't small either and we just couldn't find him anywhere.

2 months later he came crawling out from under the fridge, he was very hungry. i thought for sure he was dead too.

this was 11 years ago, and i still have him to this day.

my snake gets out all the time.  whenever pretty girls are around, he likes to stick his head out the top of my pants.  and when he goes to the bathroom, i gotta keep two hands on him or he'll get outta control.

I don't want to eat him! I really like him as a pet, haha...but I have eaten a rattlesnake. We caught it and cooked it over a fire with butter, but was pretty damn good...but I'm not going to eat my snake, I enjoy his presence too much.

I found my old albino rat snake under the stove once. I would set up a rat trap by a source of heat in a tight corner. Sorry to hear it got out again. Good luck finding it.

Maybe try bating a trap with a live mouse.Ie 5gal pal with a hole in the lid mouse in it..Snake goes in, but cant get out..
