opinions - what factors most affect yield

i know that pieces of this question are scattered in a number of posts, so i hope this isn't too much of a repeat (i believe it isn't). i'd just like to hear everyone's opinion of what they believe are the top several factors influencing shroom yield, i.e. temperature, quality of brown rice flour, casing method, etc...

i have a friend who has had the following yields: 1.5 oz dried of pf using pf casing tek, and 1.5 oz dried of maz using cakes with straw tek. we speculated based on a variety of posts that this may not be very close to maximizing the yield. thanks for all your info.

depends on what casings u use i guess...
im sure the 50/50 tek can yield more than plain vermiculite...
but wtf do i know, im a noob still...

I do not know jack ..........yet , but all that I have learned and assume from other vegitve propogation experiences is ..........
"It is a balance of many variables " Prep , nutrients , hygene , moisture , light , experience , patience , care , and pure desire to have shrooms that gets you across the finish line .
I am sure you will hear many opinions on this matter , some you may not like , but all will be informative .

but the use of dung or the lack of it are the biggest factors :smile:

Can poo be mixed into high quality compost (premade) and grain innoculated . Or must this be done with straw and the likes?

Well the kit I was given uses worm casings I think , looks like potting soil actually .
I am virgin to growing my own , and am looking for ways to expand on method I am currently learning . I am not ready for more yet , but am seeking wider paths , so when the time comes I am ready .  :cool: 

I know in wild they love poo , but the wussy in me does not like idea of eating turd flowers , seems to me there must be cleaner yet just as effective methods .  :smile:

I`ve personally never needed to look further than straw and poo
especially seeing as the poo is from race horse stables

How and where can I obtain them (worm casings) , I have never seen them in nurseries .

I`m lucky in that I have almost 30 different sources for poo where I stay
we have a race course, horse stables, friends with horses, etc.
Junkie, I`ve heard worm castings aren`t actually as good as what people believe.
I don`t have any experience with it though so I wouldn`t know.

Sorry had to shake some jars .
The company this kit is from swears by the stuff , even guarantee I will get mushies if I follow their directions . So for now I am , but as I said was trying to expand and experiment along the way . I will keep you all posted as to my outcome.

You can get worm casings at almost any indoor grow shop or places that sell organic plant food like bat guano.

I was hoping for a local chain or such . Believe it or not I do not like using net , for more than one reason . I have found a place that sells bat guano and such , but kinda pricy after shipping .
