Why is beef jerky so fucking expensive?  Does anyone know why it cost $6.05 for 103 grams of beef jerky.

I hate to promote big business, but if you go to Walmart, they have "mega-packs" of Jack Link's jerky in a variety of flavors....
It is a 12oz (340gr) bag for under $10....    :thumbup:

Beef jerky FTW....    :awesome:

it takes like 4 lb of meat to make one lb of jerky, or somewhere along the lines. Around here, at the local butchers it's $16/lb, 18-22 for buffalo. This kid i know from work has a family with a passion for jerky. He's hooked me up with the bombest jerky i've ever had in my life.  it was deer jerky with honey baste :laugh:rool:

I say it's the amount of beef that's used.  If you've ever made any, you will realize that you get surprising little out of a lot of beef.

So after a short amount of research it takes about two pounds of meat to make a 12oz strip of jerky.

i hate jacks links, if you go to that same walmart they have this big as brown bag of traditional beef jerky, that shits the bomb and you get a full pound for $9  thats pretty good me thinks.  jacks links is like the microso$t of jerky.  ive never liked that stuff, always tasted 2 "commercial".  i loved that jerky you used to find at gas stations in the bulk bins, it was prob deer jerky so so tasty.
