I have an ikea bed, the MALM series that I sleep on every day.
It's my favorite bed of all time.

Can't saying anything about the matresses, but the bed frames can be complete shit so look at how the hold together. Mine broke in under a year, cheap compressed wood and poor siderail to head/foot board mountings. Go to a place that sells real, durable furniture, some of Ikea's stuff is made to break I swear.
Not to mention I had to buy 3 seperate pieces besides the actual frame (center metal beam + 2 rolls of wood slats) for the damn frame to actually work.

I second that babe! The bed frames suck ass!!! Maybe they work under European-under use (or just for sleeping) but as for American use (vigorous or moderate sex use or even none at all) they fall apart like cardboard in water! They also don't moved well (that is if you plan to move any time in the near future) one of our bed rails fell over (after being propped up fairly well) and hit him (denots87) in the back of the neck/shoulder and broke (on him not on the floor)! That was after no force on his part at all! Going to a real furniture store may cost a bit more but is worth it! Ikea is like on the same level as Wal-mart only 3X more expensive!!! (sometimes Wal-mart is actually better on occasion)
I'm not saying that all Ikea is shit but if you can, look at how the frame is put together! Screws in wood can strip and come out, screws in metal are a lot better! Beware too... a lot of Ikea bed frames don't come with a few extra parts need to be called a bed frame... We had to buy 3 extra parts to make it work with a normal mattress : a metal center rod and two sets of wooden slats (which in a normal frame are equivalent to metal cross beams).
I guess what I'm saying is just be careful that you know what you're buying (A lot of Ikea items are made of particle board!)
