IKEA is good for it's intended use. Cheap furniture for small apartments or dorms. You get what you pay for. I have bought IKEA shelves and such without incident, but realize something with a decent amount of use and wear / tear is probably best off with a more expensive reliable model

Note: And Europeans never intended the furniture to be used by our obese American countrymen lol
