Marijuana, amanita muscaria, and the symbiotic mycorrhizal relationship...

okay... everyone knows, or has heard, that it is impossible to grow the amanita in a lab environment due to the symbiotic mycorrhizal relationship between the the fungus and the host tree; well, on researching the topic i have found that there are two different kinds of mycorrhizal fungus:endomycorrhizal and ectomycorrhizal. endomycorrhizal, penetrating the cell wall of the root, and ectomycorrhizal forming a sheath around the root. Amanita being an ectomycorrhizal, formings a sheath around the root of the host plant. The reason for this relationship is that the fungus is unable to photosynthesize and make its own carbon so it takes some of the carbohydrates, which the plant passes down to its roots. In exchange the plant receives nutrients and water from the fungus; which, has an extensive mycelium structure that reaches out further than the plant roots, so it forms a secondary root system.

The cannabis plant is very interesting species, it has a high rate of photosynthesis, thus produces an abundance of carbohydrates through the consumption of co2, water, and light. There has been a "breakthrough" in the marijuana growing community; apparently, adding a mycorrhizal to marijuana increases yields, and strengthens the plant throughout the growing cycle for its ENTIRE LIFE.

Anyone every try the amanita as a mycorrhizal for cannabis? Obviously the amanita prefers birch or pine, but who's actually introduced the two? I wont grow marijuana in my apartment, but Im betting theres someone out there that has the means to attempt this.

As for me, and everyone else who doesnt want the attention of a giant cannabis plant, a small pine tree with a decent sized root system could be a nice decorative touch. Give it that "Christmas all year" feel. :P But seriously..

From what i have been reading the Amanita lives on the root system for the entire duration of the plants life. Assuming it has the same fruiting parameters as the cube, it should be able to be nourished and fruited regularly in an ideal temp and humidity controlled environment.

if/when i have the means to demonstrate my theory, i will do extensive documentation of this entire experiment. It will be published here for all to see and enjoy.
