Non dropping spores

High All,
Some things never happen untill you read about it. Well I was reading a Stamets book and encountered some info about caps which do not tend to drop there spores. And what you could do about that.
I realised that it only happens now and then and just 1 out of 10.
2 days later 12 caps holding there spores. After 24 hrs I dropped some clean H2O on the caps to help humidty. But the foil stayed clean.
The strain was Gulfcoast, any help would be nice

I find it helps to allow the caps to dry out a little while printing. This seems to help the caps drop spores.

>it helps to allow the caps to dry out a little while printing.
>maybe you harvested them too early?
Both likely reasons.

yea i just harvested some KS and did a little experiment with 2 caps. #1's veil was completely broken and #2's veil about 1/3 to 1/2 broken. #1 gave me a dark print and number 2 gave me a few specks, hardley enough to see. sorry just had to throw that out there in this post!

Could be the strain as well. Penis envy is notorious for not dropping spores. Or dropping very few.
Just a thought.

I had problems with getting spores to drop from the nicest fruits of my Cambodians and Keepers Creeper.
I found out later that the cap sealed so well against the tin foil, that nothing dropped. Just condensation underneath.
I make sure to set them as to avoid this.
- That Thai Pink Buffalo print you replaced for me barely had enough to see, but i checked my jars the other day and they're coming along nicely. Thanks Eric.
